For the first time this season, the Los Angeles Lakers have won three straight home games. This last home game not only snaps a 10-game home losing streak vs the San Antonio Spurs, but this also becomes the first home game won against them since April of 2013.

The Lakers first played at home against the Atlanta Hawks on the first of January. They won with a score of 132 – 113. The win against the Hawks snapped a nine-game losing streak.

According to Tania Ganguli from The Los Angeles Times, ¨[The Lakers avoided] a 10-game losing streak, which would have tied the longest in franchise history. At 10-29, the Hawks have the worst record in the NBA. They are the only team with a worse record than the Lakers, who are 12-27.¨

Many players from the Lakers had great performances. The Associated Press and ESPN reported, ¨Brandon Ingram had 20 points and seven assists while Lonzo Ball finished with 13 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. Julius Randle had 15 points and nine rebounds in his sixth straight start.¨

The second home win came against the Sacramento Kings with a score of 99 – 86. The Lakers continued their good momentum as they took the win against the Kings.

The Associated Press and also ESPN also said,¨With Ball leading the charge, the Lakers were at their most effective when pushing the ball up the court, and they picked up where they left off after tying a franchise record with 42 fast-break points against Atlanta on Sunday. They had a 35-8 edge on the break this time, and Ball’s 11 assists were his most since the rookie sustained a shoulder injury that sidelined him for six games.¨

The third win came against the San Antonio Spurs with a score of 93 – 81. This win over the Spurs marked the third consecutive win for the first time this season. The Lakers came into this game with about as many losses as the Spurs have wins.

Colin Ward-Henninger and Chris Barnewall of CBS SPORTS said, ¨The Lakers were in charge from the get-go, and held on for their third straight victory — their first three-game winning streak of the season. Lonzo Ball had a huge game with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while Brandon Ingram scored a game-high 26 points.¨

The whole game was played in favor of the Lakers with a 17-0 lead that took them to the second quarter. They kept dominating the boards and kept the Spurs at about 40% shooting as they made them force 20 turnovers. It was just a piece of the Lakers team working as a team.

With such a good improvement in these last few games, we can only expect more greatness from this young team. They are set to play an away game against The Dallas Mavericks on the 13th of January and we will see if they can maintain this winning momentum.
